* 2nd Shift Domestic Violence Shelter Case Manager/Direct Service Advocate

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. has an immediate need for a full-time Domestic Violence Shelter Case Manager/Direct Service Advocate. Looking for an energetic and flexible individual with good time management and organizational skills who will be responsible for providing case management to clients and their families who are fleeing domestic violence. Responsible for  providing trauma-informed individual and group interventions, crisis management, safety planning, housing search and placement, budgeting, assisting individuals to develop living skills, communication and relationship skills, and coping strategies along with providing advocacy, assessment, linkage, monitoring and support.

As a Direct Service Advocate, this position provides intake assessments and emergency crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking at the hospital, in shelter, or by phone.  Will work with program director to provide support with shelter operations and facilities upkeep and engage in shelter practices that are consistent with policies and procedures.

Ability to relate to a wide variety of people from different cultural and socio economic levels as an advocate as well as familiarity with Ashland County resources desired.  Must have a mission driven mindset. Work with mental health, domestic violence, sexual assault, mental health, and substance use disorder preferred. High school diploma with DV or case management experience required, associates or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Work hours are 4pm to 12am M-F.

Must have a car available during working hours, carry and maintain automobile insurance that includes a payable liability of $100,000/$300,000, as well as the ability to legally drive a car. Must pass background and driving record checks.
