*Maintenance Worker

At Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc., we walk with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance use disorder, and victim services. To help accomplish this goal, Appleseed is seeking to fill a full-time Maintenance Worker. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. This position is responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds for multiple locations.

This position performs light maintenance for multiple facilities and exterior as needed including building systems such as heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical. Maintains Material Safety Data sheets, inventory control of equipment purchases and is responsible for insuring agency compliance with OSHA standards.


  • Performs maintenance and repairs on agency facilities, rental properties, equipment and exterior property in a professional manner and in good working order
  • Performs or oversees contractors regarding lawn maintenance, snow/ice removal, painting, building walls, repairing doors and locks, and the building framework and trim
  • Maintains inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Completes work orders
  • Janitorial duties
  • Apartment reconditioning, including painting, repairs, cleaning, etc.
  • Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Upkeep of outside grounds, including lawn care and snow / ice removal
  • Working with outside contractors as needed
  • Performs monthly and semi-annual inspections, health and fire inspections
  • On-call coverage for emergencies


  • Previous experience in maintenance or other related field
  • Must be deadline and detail oriented and be able to prioritize
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to organize projects quickly and effectively
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Payable liability insurance of 100,000/300,000
  • Pass drug screen
  • Pass background and driving record checks
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
