Part-Time Nurse (LPN/RN)
At Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc., we walk with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance use disorder, and victim services. To help accomplish this goal Appleseed is seeking to fill a part-time LPN/RN working 1 day a week and assist in covering vacation and sick time for full-time staff.
Responsibilities
- Following doctor's orders and established plans, performs nursing services for children and families.
- Assesses persons served behavior, condition, safety and accountability and reports changes to the attending Physician.
- Teaches clients about their medications and how to take them, how to recognize and respond to side effects, and how medication might affect physical health.
- Monitors vital signs (blood pressure, height, weight etc.) as indicated by the Psychiatrist's orders as well as the medications prescribed.
- Coordinates Central Pharmacy, drug samples, and other medication stored at the agency.
- Performs other duties, as determined appropriate by department and agency.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered/Practical Nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration as outlined in sections 4723.01 to 4723.40 inclusive of the Ohio Revised Code.
- Must also be certified to administer medications from one of the following: the National Association of Practical Nurse Education and Service, Inc. (NAPNES), the Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNE), or the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Skilled with using medical equipment (blood pressure cuff, hazardous waste cleanup, hypodermics etc.).
- Able to express self verbally and in written words.
- Able to operate basic office equipment, phones, faxes, copier, etc.
