* Campus & Direct Services Advocate
At Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc., we walk with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance use disorder, and victim services. To help accomplish this goal Appleseed is seeking a Campus and Direct Services Advocate to work at RCDV Save Haven. This is a full-time position Monday – Friday, 8AM – 4:30 PM with some flexed evenings required for events. Will provide training in sexual violence and domestic violence and must have the ability to relate effectively with a diverse population.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct services to survivors and secondary survivors on campus (over the phone, in-person, support groups, outreach, Title IX complaints and hearings, hospital advocacy, and other services as needed) as well provide 24-hour crisis hotline, in-person crisis intervention, individualized safety planning, follow-ups, resources and information, and other services as needed both in shelter and other Safe Haven programs
- Delivers outreach presentations and attends events on campus, while ensuring that information is delivered in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner, in collaboration with the Outreach & Prevention Coordinator and/or other staff, as appropriate
- Ensures a safe, confidential, supportive, non-judgmental environment for student survivors to explore feelings resulting from their victimization and the healing process while arranging for follow-up services for Title IX committee members, hospital, law enforcement, mental health, criminal justice, and other social services, as needed.
- Responsible to adhering to, and understanding, both Title IX and the Clery Act
- Assesses campus needs and collaborates with campus faculty, administration, and student groups to discover gaps in services, duplication of services, and positive collaborative efforts in serving survivors of sexual violence, stalking, and/or intimate partner violence on campus
- Participates in Title IX meetings, community coordinated response meetings, trainings, and educational presentations, as needed or requested
- Facilitate or Co-Facilitate groups
- Performs other duties, as determined appropriate by Director and/or agency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- Prefer 1 years’ experience working with victims of sexual violence, stalking, and/or intimate partner violence
- Must have a car available during working hours, carry and maintain automobile insurance that includes a payable liability of $100,000/$300,000, as well as the ability to legally drive a car
- Must pass background check, drug test, and driving record check
