Housing Coordinator

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking to fill a full-time, Monday – Friday, Housing Coordinator. Looking for an energetic individual with good time management, organizational and writing skills. Duties include planning for and overseeing the development and supervision of all housing programs designed to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness or those imminently losing their housing.  Assumes responsibility for case management, planning, coordinating, and quality improvement.  Acts as a resource to individuals, families, and agencies regarding issues and services. Maintains necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with all applicable Ohio Department of Mental Health, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Ohio Department of Development and agency standards. Knowledge of community resources, fair market rent, Section 8 Vouchers, HMIS, Point in Time Counts, and housing laws is a plus. This position will have a small caseload of housing clients for case management. Experience in working on grants, especially housing grants, is a plus. High School Diploma required.

 Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Determine participant eligibility and completion of intake assessments.
  • Oversee and report on progress toward grant goals and objectives.
  • Represent the organization at various grant-related meetings and trainings.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Manager regarding grant budgets and match requirements.
  • Prepare and retain compliance documents.
  • Initiate and maintain community partnerships.
  • Provide outreach to the community regarding housing.
  • Prepare for and lead the annual Point in Time Count and complete reporting.
  • Complete data entry and QA requirements
  • Conduct an internal audit of programs.
  • Monitor compliance with grant performance goals.
  • Collect rent payments and ensure timely payment from tenants.
  • Crisis management
  • Housing search and placement, budgeting, assisting individuals to develop living skills, communication and relationship skills, and coping strategies along with providing advocacy, assessment, linkage, monitoring, and support.

Requirements 

  • Flexibility, dedication, and the ability to relate successfully to parents, children and teens are expected.
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of people from different cultural and socioeconomic levels as an advocate as well as familiarity with Ashland County resources desired.
  • Familiarity with Ashland County resources desired.
  • The portion of work is provided in client homes, schools, or community sites.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test prior to employment.
  • Must have a car available during working hours, carry and maintain automobile insurance that includes a payable liability of $100,000/$300,000, as well as the ability to legally drive a car.
  • Must be willing to transport program participants

Salary Range: $42,000 - $49,000 Annually
