Adult Counseling Services

Appleseed  offers comprehensive counseling services in a safe, trusting environment. Our Center is solution-focused. We help individuals living  with at-risk behaviors and challenging relationships achieve optimal levels of functioning in all aspect of their lives, from work to home. During counseling sessions, your therapist will help you explore behaviors, feelings, and ideas that are negatively influencing your mental health and identify methods for behavior modification. Counselors may also identify traumatic experiences from your past, such as a divorce, abuse, substance use, job loss, or family member's death that affects your mental health today to help you work through these events and regain control over your life.

Counseling

Working with a counselor, patients get treatment for mental health issues and symptoms such as:

  • Depression.
  • Sleep issues.
  • Substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Lack of enjoyment for life.
  • Stressful or traumatic memories.
  • Challenging family relationships.
  • Chronic anxiety.
  • Lack of motivation.
  • Job challenges.
  • Suicidal thoughts.

Counseling Techniques

Depending on the scope of your problem, our counselors may use therapy techniques to identify unconscious conflicts that arise as emotional problems in the present. Techniques may include Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Integrated Family and Systems Treatment. Resolution and healing is accomplished by talking through the experience and using coping techniques and skills for solving problems. Your therapist may also use interpersonal methods to help you cope with relational problems influencing mental health to help you with communication skills, boosting self-esteem, and combating anxiety or depression.
