Residential Advocate- Part-time Weekends & Holidays

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center in Ashland, Ohio is seeking caring and dependable persons for the part-time Residential Advocate position.  This position would be working for the Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven (a residential shelter for persons fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work independently on the weekends and holidays overseeing the shelter
  • Answer hot-line calls
  • Ensure safety of residents by monitoring shelter activity using cameras and alarm system
  • Support survivors
  • Document services using electronic system, Osnium
  • Intake new residents, as needed

Schedule:

  • Need to commit to working 2 shifts per month
  • Typical shifts:
    • Fridays 12:00am-8:00am
    • Saturdays 8:00am - 8:00pm, 8:00pm – 8:00am
    • Sundays 8:00am – 4:00pm, 4:00pm – 12:00am
  • Shifts can be flexible and are most often scheduled a month in advance

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Training:

  • We will provide substantial training, so that you feel confident and comfortable in this role, before working independently

Pay:

  • $13.91 per hour (Double time on holidays)

Additional requirements:

  • Must pass a drug test and background check
